An exciting opportunity for a working professional interested in gaining experience in structural, strategic and working methods, as a board member. This will be a learning period for both our start-ups and future board members, safely guided by our advisors which possesses many years of specialist expertise in the area.
We are looking for a wide range of profiles to match the competence needed by our start up companies, which all operating in different markets. You might have a middle management background, or a good industry knowledge, contact network, or other skillsets that will diversify the competence needed, but more importantly you bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to question and challenge the senior management and status quo
As a Board member you will provide foresight, oversight, and insight, like scanning the horizon for signs of storms or rainbows to explore. Depending on your skillset and experience you will be leaning towards some areas of the below;
- Take lead in strategic initiatives, road mapping and organizational planning
- Evaluating the performance of the CEO, question and challenge the business
- Establish the organization’s vision, mission, and purpose
- Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight, resource development and fundraising
- Approving and monitoring the organization’s programs and services
- Enhancing the organization’s public image
Guidance in leadership, decision making and strategy can fully be tapped in to given Arctic Business long experience in this, additionally workshops in Corporate governance, lean startup, teambuilding and finance will be held the first quarter, to ensure you have full competence before being assigned to the start up company. Great emphasis is being put on your self development and skill enhancement which will further aid you in your career when assignment is complete. This is not a full time assignment and can be done parallelly with your day-job
- The compensation 10000 SEK annually
- We will educate and prepare you for the assignments
- Board members and company meet up 2-3 times per quarter
We are happy to receive applications especially from Women, and onboarding is set to take place 22 of September. Some of the work can be done fully remote but physical meetings will occur with the companies, therefore we need candidates that are willing to make it up here on those occasions. Priority will be given for candidates based in Luleå, Piteå and Skellefteå.
